Asking respondents to place pins and then write in their own words what's wrong is one of the most common ways Maptionnaire is used to collect community data.
Here's how to turn that data into actionable insights
-
Go to the Map responses section of the analysis tool. Select the questions that you want to look at.
-
Look at the map data. Are there interesting clusters? Turn on heatmapping to see where the most pins were placed. Or perhaps it makes more sense to look at specific geographic locations, e.g. intersections.
-
When you find an interesting area that you want to learn more about, open Filters and select Spatial Filters.
-
Click Draw on the map and draw borders around the cluster. Click Apply.
-
Switch to the Charts section of the analysis tool. Add all the questions you are interested in – they are now filtered to show only responses related to the pins inside the borders you just drew with the Spatial Filters tool.
-
Click AI helper to get a summary or ask questions about the data.
-
Remember to save the view if you want to keep it! Once saved, you can also select to export it.
