Add conditional styles for map responses in the analysis tool

You can now customize how Map responses appear in the analysis tool based on respondents’ answers to background questions.

For example, if you’ve asked participants to mark their favorite places in the city, you can visually group responses by age group.

  1. Go to Map Responses in the Analysis tool.
  2. Toggle on the layer you want to display.
  3. Click the palette icon to open the styling panel.

  4. You can also adjust the default style (the appearance from the original survey question).
  5. Click "Add conditional style" if you want to customize styles based on answers to background questions.

  6. Choose the condition you want to apply.
For instance, style responses from people whose age is under 30.

  7. Adjust the color, icon, or other appearance settings.
  8. Add another condition—for example, style responses from people whose age is over 30 using a different icon or color. You can set up multiple conditions for each style and use "and" or "or" logic to determine if a response gets the style.
  9. Click Apply to update the map. Responses will now appear with different styles based on the selected conditions.

Tip! You can add as many conditional styles as needed to highlight patterns across different respondent groups. (If a response matches multiple style conditions, the first style you set takes priority). Return to styles later by saving each filtered view.
