Corridors is an AI-assisted feature that identifies trends in map line response data.

  1. Go to Analyze > Map responses.

  2. Open Tools menu and select 'Corridors'.

  3. The map should now generate corridors based on the map responses. You can:

    • select which map line responses to include
    • adjust the minimum numbers of responses per corridor
    • select a different color for the corridors
  4. Examine the corridors in closer detail by clicking the arrow next to its name. The list brings you insights into what kind of corridor this is – e.g. what is the profile of the respondents, what themes are related to this cluster. It compares the responses made by the corridor respondents with the overall dataset.

  5. You can save a specific corridor by clicking 'Save as new view'.

The corridor can then be found in the 'Saved views' menu.

Saving a single Corridors allows you to navigate to Charts and choose any of the questions to get charts and open comments related only to this corridor.

  6. You can also save all corridors in one view by clicking the 'Save view' button on the top right corner of the screen.

How 'Corridors' are generated:

Places where at least 5 drawn lines (or 1% of all lines, if more) run close together are traced into centre lines, and lines that continue straight through a crossing are joined into one corridor. Corridor A has the most lines running along it. At most 10 corridors are shown, recalculated whenever the filters change. Method: a line density raster, thinned to centre lines with the Zhang–Suen skeletonization algorithm.
