This feature empowers you to quickly generate shareable report pages from your project data, enabling you to effectively communicate your findings to a broader audience.
Adding charts to a report
-
Go to Analyze. Choose the questions that you want to show. Add filters and edit the visualization (color palette, chart types, labels, sorting...) if needed. Save the view.
- From the report menu, select Add charts to report. A preview will show which charts will be added.
-
Select Maptionnaire Page
-
Select Create new page, or if you have already created a report page, Update page.
-
Scroll down and click Create to generate the report page.
- Scroll back up and click Preview the report page. You will be taken to view the newly created report page.
-
Edit the report text and layout as needed (see What Kind of Content Can I Feature on My Website). If you have created a style template for the page, the charts will conform to that. You can also add context and narrative to your data.
- When you are ready, click Publish to make the report live and visible to anyone with the URL.
Adding a single chart element to a page
-
In the 'Pages' element library, add the Chart element to anywhere on the page.
-
Select the survey from which you want to add the chart.
-
Select the chart.
-
The chart is added to the page.
Adding maps to a report
There are two ways to present map responses on a report page:
- If you want to show specific trends or use a heatmap, you can create the maps in Analyze and then add them (as images) to the report page.
- If you want to create an interactive map of the results, you can do that by exporting the map data as geoJSONs and adding it to a new survey. This survey can then be embedded onto a report page.
Heatmaps and maps showing a specific trend
- Go to Analyze and Map responses. Click the eye icon for map questions that you want to visualize on the map. Add filters and edit the visualization if needed. Save the view.
- From the Report menu, select Add map to report. A preview of the map will be displayed. Currently, only static images can be added.
- Click Update to add the map. An image of the map will be added as the last element on the report page. Preview the report page to review the changes.
- Add multiple maps: Repeat this process to incorporate multiple map views. This is useful for showcasing different map layers or filters.
Add an interactive map
You can also add an interactive map of the results data to your pages. This article shows you how.
Creating a new report: Start fresh
Each Maptionnaire project can only have one report page. To create a new report from saved views, simply select the Create new report option after opening the Add charts to report dialog.
Caution: Creating a new report will prevent you from making further changes to the charts and map images in the previous report. While you can still share the previous report and customize its layout, its data visualizations will be frozen.
